  • Why focus on term life?

Most financial planners recommend that you separate your family and asset protection strategy from your investment strategy. In other words, they recommend buying insurance to insure against risk (term life) rather than as an investment (whole life, universal life, or other cash-value policy). This recommendation is strengthened by the fact that most cash-value policies are overloaded with fat commissions for the agencies. Term life is much simpler, cleaner, cheaper.

Why can you get me a better rate than anybody else?

It's simple. We take the time to understand and develop your case. We have access to and the respect of the real decision makers at the major carriers. We shop your case around and doggedly negotiate on your behalf.

How much can you save me?

There are no guarantees, of course, but if you have been "rated" for health or other reasons, we can probably save you 30% to 50% over what you've been able to find on your own. It costs you nothing to try.

Aren't you just another online insurance agency?

Hardly. The online agencies make their money on volume. They are in no position to offer personalized service. We offer the same online quick quote form that they do (although the lineup of carriers may not be the same-ours are top-notch), and you are welcome to try that out, but unless you match the low-risk profile, the offers you see will not be meaningful. Two of the major online agencies send us their impaired risk cases.

How do you make your money?

We make our money the same way other agents do. We receive a commission on the sale of each policy. We do not charge anything for the extra service we provide.

Do you sell disability insurance? Why?

Yes. Disability insurance is bought for much the same reasons as term life, but the payout is upon disability rather than upon death. Disability policies are also evaluated and sold in much the same manner as term life. Therefore, it does not complicate our world to offer disability insurance, and doing so helps many of the customers who come to us for term life.

Do you sell whole life insurance (cash values policies)? Why?

We specialize in term life. We do not generally persuade people to buy a cash value policy. However, some people genuinely prefer such policies. For asset and estate protection strategies, cash value policies are sometimes advantageous and financial advisors may therefore recommend them. We sell what is best for the individual.

Does it matter where I live?

We have agents licensed in every state. We can easily conduct the necessary interviews over the phone. Required medical exams can be done anywhere.

How do I know whether I will qualify for a low-cost policy?

There's no sure way other than to go through the process of applying. However, our Health Rating page will help you predict whether you might benefit from the services of a specialist like Term Life Pros.

Who will provide customer service if I purchase a policy from Term Life Pros?

We will have a licensed agent in your state write your policy and provide you with all the customer service you will need.

What insurance companies will I be able to choose from?

We maintain a database of all the top companies, such as First Colony, Jackson National, Transamerica, and Zurich/Kemper, and many other companies, all rated A or better by A.M. Best Company. Click here for more information on A.M. Best ratings.

Do I have to take a medical exam in order to apply for a policy?

Yes, today nearly all insurance companies require a short (usually less than 30 minutes) paramedic exam. The cost of the exam is covered by the insurance company and can be performed in your home or office, at your convenience. For more info and tips for the exam please click here.

How can I pay for my life insurance?

You can pay your premiums annually, semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly payments. Many companies also allow you to have your premium automatically deducted from your bank account or charged to your credit card.

What If I decide I don't want my policy after I have paid for it?

You will have from 10 - 20 days (depending on your state of residence) after you receive your policy to decide whether the policy is right for you. Within that time period you can cancel and request a full refund of any premiums paid.

Will my premiums rise if my health changes?

No, your premium is guaranteed to stay the same throughout the length of your policy regardless of changes in your health.

What if I already have life insurance?

There is no reason to continue overpaying on a policy you already own. It costs you only a little time to try to find a better deal. However, please do not cancel your current policy until you have a new policy in force.
